Short Story: Kick Off The Sunday Shoes

This story was inspired after I watched a film at home and then put a humorous post in a Facebook group about how Footloose has an awful lot in common with Folk Horror. The ensuing discussion gave me some great ideas for a horror story. It was written for a Folk Horror night in Manchester which I could not attend, so was performed by a friend. I published it on my Badgers Crossing website on Halloween night 2019.

Short Story: Evanescence

This was specially written for a Ghost Story For Christmas event in Manchester in 2018 and performed at the event by me. The idea of a person taking a cursed object they should have left where it was is largely inspired by M.R. James.

Short Story: The Grey Path

This is my longest short story by quite a long way. It features Debbie Carter and her dad Tim, who also feature in a second story I am currently writing. This was partly inspired by David Southwell who writes @HooklandGuide on Twitter and was my first attempt to build a deeper folklore for the town of Badgers Crossing, where many of my stories are set.
